So, when I got my RGH about a year ago, it was all perfect and working just fine, except for the DVD Drive. When there was no disc in there, you had to hit the top of the xbox to get it to open. So it got to the point where I didn't want to break the xbox so I put an old DVD Drive in there and I couldn't burn games or anything, and it always said "Play DVD" and needless to say, I put the old one back in. So, even after I replaced it the "Play DVD" issue along with the others, didn't seem to go away. I have tried everything I know of besides flashing the DVD Drive (due to lack of needed hardware) and it is really starting to annoy me because I can't even rip a game onto my RGH any more. Please help me, If you know a way to fix this (besides flashing), please tell me.

Ideas/Thoughts:
Can I change my RGH Nand to a dev nand (with fusion) and pair it, or will that not work?

well in order to change a drive you need to take the console dvd key and a drive that is the same type as the original and flash the dvd key to the new drive, and if the original drive is not working try cleaning the sides and the laser replace belt and see what it does.

You could try fusion to pair - I would imagine that your drive will need to be replaced or refurbished assuming it still doesnt read after pairing.
