I doubt they exist, but they're possible.

As for lifeforms in general, I think we've only scratched the surface and there could be some very scary things waiting to be discovered.

Megalodons... that would be scary.

As for my opinion, I just think it's the same as the Ocean we know today, maybe less life the further you go down though.
You all know Megalodons did exist right? They are an extinct species. And Krackens are kind of real. There are giant squids that can grow 40-50ft, they normally live at great depths, but that's what humans are pretty sure the Kracken legend came from.

KAmiKaZiGRuNT wrote I think there are thousands, perhaps millions of species yet to be discovered. Things we can't even imagine. The world is a mysterious place but the ocean is ten fold. Hopefully we will be able to discover all these species.
Not millions, there are even 1.5 million DIFFERENT species of animals discovered. I'd say thousands though.

I thought that too, until I did a bit of research.
Most sea-life at the bottom of the ocean don't exceed in length of over 25cm to cope with the massive amount of pressure
They also have a flimsy skeletons and watery muscles. All hopes of there being enormous prehistoric creatures is now washed away.

OT: Considering 97% of the Ocean is undiscovered I think there is lost cities or structures from the past like this.
