Im looking for the best set-up for mining diamonds,

And what's the Y level for diamonds, i thought it was 10-13 but i tryed that on a world, and found nothing i was on for 2 hours tops and no diamonds at all,
Also wich is the best system for strip mining is it strip leave 2 rows then another strip and so on, or strip leave 1 and strip ?
How to use my tools efficiently,
And should i have a seperate chest for all the ores i find,

anything below 12 has diamonds, to strip mine leave 2 rows between each strip, use a pickaxe! but do the torch under gravel technique to save time and resources, if your planning on finding lots (and i mean lots) of ores then put them in different chests but what i do is put each one in seperate column in a single chest and if i need more then i make a new chest and carry on doing that, sorry for the long reply
