Recently I purchased a RGH Xbox with a 120GB internal HDD (Standard Microsoft one). I was looking to upgrade it but some of the prices on here are quite high. I was wondering if I could purchase an external USB HDD and would it work the same? As I have seen some 3TB HDDs cheaper than 500GB HDDs from here.

Yes, you can. Thats what I do with my 1TB external drive it will come up as USB 0 if you don't have a normal USB in or USB 1. You copy all the contents of XeX menu from your hard drive to the External and your good to go. Contents=Cache Games all those folders under HDD. You don't need 3TB of space though. I have 1TB and thats far beyond over doing it. 400GB of space is a good amount. I would recommend those to you. I am not sure what USB ports are on the Xbox 360 if it's 2.0 or 3.0 Look it up. I don't know if they are cross compatible either 3.0 and 2.0. Hope I helped!
