In Florida right now there are military soldiers walking the streets and when asked why they're there they say "we don't even know." A new kid just came to our school from Pittsburgh told me that soon the military will try to take back the valley (where my town is), and establish another base. Two days ago we had a gas leak during lunch. Everyone walked directly to the football field and were told to line up where we saw our 1st period teacher. I looked around and saw the staff and resource officers blocking all entrances. After they counted us they told us school had been declared over, but we were being kept for our "safety". Me and 3 others started joking saying "hey, maybe we should hop the fence and take the back way." For an explanation there's the main rode, where the supposed gas leak was, and the other side was a privately owned trail that only allows citizens to bike and walk on it, police of no authority there. After joking for a little I started to seriously think about why we were still there if we had a safe exit. I took a chance and hopped a fence from inside a dugout so no one could see me. I called my dad and he fully understood why I left. The next day an article was posted on a local news site that said the leak ended within 10min of it occurring. They held everybody for an hour and half. When I went back into school the principal literally went on the intercom and said "I was proud with the way our students could follow what to do without question." After the speech everybody in all the classes started clapping. I sat there in disgust. My theory, even before this incident, was that there will be some sort of emergency to evacuate us to a safe place. The military will escort us to some holding place, or maybe a FEMA camp if you believe in those. Take a stand and don't do anything without asking questions first. You'll probably be lied to anyways though, so just rise up and don't be a sheep.
