Just asking why did you go for 2x500GB HDD's when you could have gone for 1x1TB HDD?

A 2x500GB HDD setup in raid 0 might be preferable to some.

I agree with r00t, honestly if you care one bit about your computer you should've invested in a power supply of quality. Also, MSI G43 series is very broad. I certainly hope you plopped a 3570k in a Z77 board. Overall rating is a 3/10.

Thanks fot the reply, garbage case - in what sense? one of the best reviewed cases on ebuyer - spacious for a first build - with room for several additional drives and additional cooling fans.

The PSU is cheap - The views on designated computer sites e.g tomshardware - overclockers etc state that generic PSUs are fit for purpose, if they under no excessive stress they will cope for years (you and generation have installed a view on this forum a cheap PSU is the end of the world which it catagoragly not. (anyway I do plan to upgrade in future)

No aftermarket cooler - I have no intention to overclock certainly in the near future, I take it intel have designed there fans to let the processor burn lets be serious.

I had a hardrive from a previous desktop so saved money this way.

I will eventually invest in a new power supply at the moment the PSU is under no specific stress and will last for years if I wanted to keep it that long. The board is a H61M-P31 (G3)to be specific.

3/10 can you explain? Such a rating for the above specs even excluding the power supply is uneducated.

Garbage case in the sense that it uses an outdated layout and has mediocre features. Everything about it is mediocre.

Yes, we have installed the view that quality PSUs are a must. Isn't it wonderful? This build is not somewhere a generic trash PSU should be because you're running enthusiast hardware. Those units belong in prebuilts with casual user hardware and good PSUs are not expensive.

If you don't plan to overclock then you should have gotten a locked i5 and saved a good chunk of change. It has nothing to do with Intel's stock fan being inadequate for the CPUs it is included with at stock clocks.

EDIT: Disagree all you want, you put high-end hardware with a timebomb power supply. It's your hardware at risk, not mine.
