hey i have a xeon (or however the hell its spelled) as u and it got the rrod. i know how to fix it!

first i tried the penny trick (didn't work)
then i tried reappling thermal paste (didn't work)
then i tried hanging the power brick (didn't work)

then i realized in between the gpu and cpu heat sinks of the older xbox's had a small space between the heat sinks. that means the heat sinks must have been not secure to the dyes. so i took one penny and put it on the cpu diode ( the diode or dye is the silver square plate looking thing covered with the gray thermal paste) and took two pennies and stacked them on the gpu diode and made the heat sinks taller by unscrewing the stands alittle bit. i call them stands but they look like table legs attached to the heat sinks. plz keep in mind i had thermal paste between pennies and had paste wher the pennies touched the heat sink. also know that u apply the paste thin .then I had to heat up my gpu by putting the fans only over the cpu and once it overheated i let it sit for 15 min and it works. keep in mind my xbox is still apart because the fans NEED to be on the heat sinks at all times! i can email u pics if u want. also i ran GTA IV for 4hrs straight and no problems
