i have 260 pounds/420 USD to spend on a gfx card, pretty much all cards will fit in my case, i dont want to SLI and i want the card to look good, im looking at evga 2gb gtx 660ti and xfx hd 7950 but i dont know whats better, feel free to mention other cards

With that cash, you either need to get a Nvidia GTX 670 or 680.

My favorite brand is EVGA for GTX cards. The EVGA GTX 680 is $460 if you wanted to save some cash.

You can always get the 7970 from AMD.

These are much cheaper and do amazing for games as well. They will run you about 380-400.
These cards are the AMD equivalent to the GTX 680 from Nvidia

Will you be doing any sort of rendering, or just playing games? Going with nvidia, they offer Cuda which you can use to render pictures and videos with your gpu which will help speed it up. If youre just wanting to game I would recommend a radeon HD 7970 since you have the price limit that you do. I am not familiar with the English tech sites so somebody else will have to help you with that.
