shadow1 wrote Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor... not many people die from idiots. Look at UKs gun laws, they only have on average around 40 and around 9000 per year in the us because we allow guns.

Look at your other crime rates. UK no guns = little gun deaths and a crap ton more stabbings.

They are also going to try to put a ban on video games >:c Because they think this is what is causing people to do this. The only reason that guy killed all those kids and teachers was to prove a point that we need weapons to protect ourselfs. I think its a bad idea in general and i think Obama needs to chill i understand why its such a bad thing to kill people but we need protection and just because people are dumb enough to go to that level where does it leave us

Although I agree,
The only reason that guy killed all those kids and teachers was to prove a point that we need weapons to protect ourselfs
is one of the silliest things I've read about the shooting.

He did not do it to prove any point.

He did it because he was a misanthropic loner who missed out on what should have been the best years of his life.
His ideologies were skewed and he wanted out.

Why not revel in the media and go out with a bang? Having your name plastered on every news paper and report and remembered for decades is a whole lot better in the suicidal mind than simply going out with a whimper from your family.
Although most who commit suicide aren't that deluded and sadistic that they would shoot up a school full of bright young kids.

Adam Lanza was a monster, and he certainly didn't have a political agenda.

The USA has over 5000 nuclear warheads. If they wanted to kill the population they wouldn't disarm you then do it one-by-one LOL.

Nuke their own country? That is not smart in any type of way. Since it is their country, they would try to be as careful as possible to not destroy anything. Cleanup and rebuilding costs is probably something they would want to avoid.

fknvlink wrote or because there are way too many shooting.. australia has very strict gun laws and we never get shootings

One of the worst shootings in history happened in Australia!
A man walked down the road with two semi-automatic weapons killing 34 people then himself!
when

Port Arthur - April 28, 1996. Shooter's name was Martin Bryant, but what I am reading, he is still alive in prison with 35 life sentences. Used a Colt AR-15 and an L1A1 SLR (FN FAL.)

But these events are one-offs. One every few decades. America seems to have a major shooting every 6 months.

My biggest problem that people still get guns in banned areas. Guns save a lot of people here. If they ban guns, those that could have been protected will becomes victims. Just because bad people abuse an item doesn't mean those that use it properly should be punished as well. I personally won't be happy until the countries with gun bans have zero gun crimes for a year. I bet black markets will pop up all over the place if they ban guns. It just isn't right.

I doubt they will ban guns, they will probably just raise the prices.

Maybe banning a certain gun type, isn't the way to go? What if they made it harder to acquire such weaponry. Not everyone is going to need a use for an Assault Rifle. The excuse of using it for protection, shouldn't be in place. A 9mm is just as useful if not more than an assault rifle, due to the mobility and compact size.

Well, that argument is in place and forever will be until the officers of the law and military of the country lose theirs as well. The 2nd Amendment is in place so should our government get out of line, we can take it back by force. The guns are a small safety net should we go to war with our government. So yea, we need them for protection.
