I take a class at my school for pc hardware and then networking and i got my A+ certification last year so my parents let me make a computer and they would buy it as my christmas gift, i put it all together but my friend helped me a little.
Specs:
-16 gigs of ram
-2tb HDD
-asus motherboard, cheap one but is still good
-Core i7 running 3.5 GHz, quad core
-Apevia x trooper case
-also got a razer black widow ultimate 13 for a keybaord, so far i love it
I used to game on xbox all of the time but im going to start pc gaming, i know i still need to get a graphics card but that will be in a little while.

in the end it was about 650, it was on sale for black Friday and it was my Christmas/birthday gift from my whole family.

i7 why not get i5 ?

No need for an i7 for gaming drop 16gb to 8gb, get a decent graphics card and a good motherboard not some cheap asus one(his words) and don't forget your aftermarket CPU cooler!
