I was wondering if i should upgrade my processor, (AMD athlon 5600+ x2 2.8 GHz) Or my Graphics card, (Nvidia gt 540 2gb) i have $150 and i am planning on either of the two. i have 8gb of ram also. what is slowing down my COD gameplay most? i want to run BO2 on max but it lags. i get 30 fps i usually close EVERYTHING. but steam. i use gamebooster also

What are your full specs? The power supply model (not just wattage rating) is important as well.

There's no reason to spend so much on a graphics card for Call of Duty.

Well, i plan on playing BF3 also. I forgot to mention I only have an AM2 socket. i have an Nspire 450w..... just by looking at it i'm a little ticked. When i purchased he claimed it had a 1000w

You're pushing six years on that CPU... You'll need to upgrade the mobo, CPU, RAM, and PSU if you want to get by in BF3. You sure you just have $150 for the upgrade before the graphics card? If you had ~$400 for the whole thing it would be better.

Haha, that's a completely new build. Are the hard drive and optical drive SATA and do you want to use them with the new hardware? If the HDD is a low RPM, it might be better to use it as a data drive (assuming you don't want a new HDD with a greater capacity) and get a lower capacity SSD to put Windows and applications on. Otherwise, $500 or $600 can get you some very capable gaming builds.
