First off, i feel soo much for the families that are affected by shootings but back on topic.
There is an amendment that gives us the right to bear arms. Also GUNS don't kill people, people kill people. Whether its with a gun or a simple homemade pipe bomb, its still the humans fault. Banning guns is going to do nothing. Drugs are illegal and look... criminals still get them when they feel like it. Legal or not, people will get what they want. Also they plan on banning assault rifles? The killer from the most recent shooting used a single shot rifle, basically a pistol. People can do the same damage with pistols obviously. One last note. This was brought up in my civics class today: since George bush left office(most recent bush), over 170 CHILDREN, just children have been killed while trying to kill fugitives throughout the world with drones, WHY are they not banned.
Post your thoughts. I would have posted this a few days ago, but i have been busy studying for some finals. But please post your thoughts about banning guns!

I think we need gun control, not a ban on guns. We should be able to keep guns for recreation or defense, but there is no reason any civilian should have a full-auto rifle with armor piercing rounds. The constitution was made back when a pistol was high-tech, it's a little outdated.

You have to realize that the amendment was not made for the fact of "Hey, we have cool looking guns!" It was based on the fact that american citizens should have the right to be able to have something to combat the government in a case where citizens see them as tyrannical. It's something with a high chance of never happening, but I do agree that we should withhold that right.

Secondly, Adam Lanza's AR was semi-automatic. It is extremely difficult to own a fully-auto assault weapon. You need military clearance or a Grade 3 license(I think is the name?) to even purchase one. Which are extremely hard to get. I think most outsiders believe any psychopath can walk into a gun shop and purchase every assault rifle off the wall, when that is definitely not the case.

If the government bans our guns, hell, lets ban everyone's cars too. I mean the .1% of people that are stupid enough to drive drunk is enough evidence to get rid of vehicles, right?

There should be a limit on clip size and automatic weapons, not a ban altogether.

Banning guns and even limiting guns is going to do absolutely nothing to stop anything like this. People that have the motivation to do something like this will find a way to acquire guns anyways. All banning guns would do is make the innocent not be able to defend themselves as well. My dad keeps a 12 gauge shotgun under his bed just in case somebody ever tries to break in. If they ban guns, what happens when somebody breaks into my house with one?

Let's ban guns. Then all the evil in the world will go away. Or maybe we should have guns in the hands of educated gun owners who can put down these idiots instead of running the other way or waiting to be killed.

Want to solve some gun violence? Go after the hundreds of death per day caused by gang bangers with illegally obtained guns in the neighborhoods that voted for Obama.

Yes, there has. But that is the shooters fault for pulling the trigger. The shooter in Colorado had bombs etc in his apartment and was ready to kill many people that way! That is an example of how people will kill with other stuff to, banning guns with make shooters laugh because its doing nothing. All the bannin of guns is doing is pissing off good people and getti people to buy more guns now!

In the eighteenth century, at a time when there were no police or forces of law enforcement, the second amendment was put into place the right to bear arms
- Sir William Blackstone

I highly disagree on concealed carry the amendment was originally put into place when there was no force to protect the public. Though I believe there is nothing wrong with having a pistol or rifle in your house, and I don't mean a high powered killing machine I mean a pistol, shotgun, or rifle that I would go hunting with. Guns will cause more problems then they will solve if they were allowed in public, punk kids would get a hold of them and mess around and cause many accidental deaths.

This is my take you are all entitled to your own opinion.

Most of you don't know that the school shooting, theater shooting and most shootings that has happened this year was a set up to get THIS exact thing to happen.

Please take a look at this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Take a LOOK at the years 2010-2012 and look at any other year or even DECADE. In this 2 year time span that this GUN LAW has been trying to get passed there has been more or near the same mass shootings that has happened in any DECADE.

In both the movie theater and school shooting the shooters where ARMED and GEARED as if they where trying to complete a Military black ops mission.

Guys Open your Eyes! Please don't let this happen.
