Wow guys, Let me first start by saying that I am back. Yes yes, some of you may know me others may not. I've returned from a some what long hiatus. However that is not what this topic is about. I am sure there is a whole other section for welcome backs and what not. On to the real topic, I just watched The Dark Knight Rises for the first time. Yes really the first time. Never seen it in theaters due to the whole Colorado shooting and a busy schedule. I know I shouldn't let events like that bother me but that is another subject and we are getting off topic again!

So I watched this movie going into it with no certain exception and comparison to it's first movie in the series. And I must say WOW. I was totally blown away by this spectacle of a movie. I heard a lot of complain about how the film wasn't as "actiony" as the first but I really think the story telling elements put this movie over the top. I thought the movie was a incredible and it held my attention from start to beginning. Also I must state these are my opinions!

Now as the subject line suggest I will properly hide my spoilers in the spoil section below. If you haven't seen the movie like me I must first say "What the heck are you thinking?" and please refrain from reading the section in the spoil hider below.

Ok, Like I said before this is going to contain spoilers if you haven't seen the movie I would highly suggest to avoid reading this. Alright now where to begin. I didn't plan to say much about the movies but those fights were incredible. I mean Batman and Bane going at it. What more can I say! Love every single fight scene and in my honest opinion they could choose anyone better to play Bane than Tom Hardy. And speaking of actors, Joseph Levitt was also a excellent choice for Blake. Now that we are talking about Blake, I can't believe I didn't recognize the movies plot to make him Robin. And what is your opinion about possible future movies actually featuring robin becoming his actual sidekick?

Alright that is enough about me rambling on about great movie and for those who actually sat around to read the entire thing. Regardless if you have seen it or not give me your opinion about the movie. For those who have seen it, lets be polite and hide all our spoilers. Also I have left a nice little poll above if you don't feel like reading this entire topic or you just are way to tired to reply go ahead and vote up there. And last but not least must once again mention these are OPINIONS everyone as them nor will you be bashfully beaten over the internet than exiled into the cold lonely world.

Thanks for reading, and you have a pleasant day/night depending on your location in the world I am in utter anticipation for your awesome responses.

-Whiskey out!

*Small Edit*
I do apologize if a mod feels this is in the wrong section! I just noticed there is a movie and television subsection of general. If you feel is necessary to move the topic I once again apologize for that amount of work. However, being that Movies is a subsection of General discussion it is still technically in the proper section.

Great movie. I felt it was kind of boring in the middle, even fights were slower than the previous movie, but great movie still. The ending was fantastic. Totally loved how they stripped that plane at the beginning. That's not the same Robin by the way, but cool that they did what they did. There isn't going to be another one with that director and Christian Bale so I don't know what they are going to do, if anything. Bale already said that he refused to have a sidekick in the movies, so that's not happening either. Still, it was a great trilogy.

Wow, awesome pieces of information that I didn't know. Mind if I ask you to elaborate on a bit. You said that wasn't the robin, mind if I ask who that was than? And that is a shame, because in my honest opinion the whole batman and robin sidekick duo would have made for another great blockbuster.

Like I mean why was his real name robin? and why would the movie feel it's important to present this information if it would just lead to misconceptions?

The director said it wasn't the real Robin. Robin was never the real name to any of the Robin's. He just thought it would be cool to include the name just to honor that character. He said the Robin that we know is in that world, but at that time, he is still a baby (Don't know how that works, but it's what he said.) The real Robins real names were: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damien Wayne. Robin in Dark Knight was called John Blake, who is a new character in that world. I studied up on that as well to see if he was one of the real Robins. I thought he was at first, but nope, lol.

Wow that is quite interesting. Thanks for the knowledge on that. Might have to dig into it a little bit myself. I love the whole "shoutout" to robin but I am sure that threw a curve ball for some not so avid batman viewers.

EDIT* Actually did a little bit research into the characters and this is unrelated to what we were talking about but apparently rumors say that Robin Williams will be Hugo Strange. I don't know how good of a fit he would be but it was be interesting non the less.

I will tell you what Yin I am utterly confused now. A bit of research and this is what I found.

"Christian Bale has stated that he would not play Batman if Robin appeared anywhere in the trilogy. Christopher Nolan agreed not to include Robin as it would undermine the dark tone of his series. At the end of the film, Detective John Blake's (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) legal name is revealed to be "Robin", and he quits the police force and is shown to enter the Batcave by following the instructions presumably left by Bruce Wayne in his will. "

"Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the first Robin who never wore Robin's uniform, and the first actor in a live-action Batman film whose alter-ego is not Dick Grayson. "

I guess given the certain circumstances, they still are going to give him credit as being Robin. I do promise you though that the director somewhere did say it wasn't another Robin. Maybe they decided to change their mind because of that curveball that you stated earlier. Well, another Robin to add to the nice list of Robin's, lol. I thank you for finding that.
