If you have the money, don't mind slower boot times and like the look of the slim then buy a slim. If you don't want to spend a lot of money but you still want quality buy a Falcon/Jasper (Both are good).

falcon are crap.

jasper is your answer hands down. slims fail as often if not more often than jaspers with yet a higher price. jasper jasper jasper i cannot stress it enough. my personal console is a jasper i trust them more than any other console.

i work with several falcon opus xenon and zephyr boards a month. speaking from experience a handful of them rrod very soon after testing. other go on to last a couple of months.

a reballed or mint falcon will work just fine and most likely last you the rest of your 360 days. but there is a very very small chance your falcon you buy will be reballed or mint. there are thousands of ppl that buy consoles to simply reflow and resell them. reflows last for around 30 days in a good situation in my experience./


jaspers run cooler than any other board slim or phat, lowest rrod rates and the least likely to of been reflowed. if your too cheap to get a jasper then dont get one you are only deciding to pay for a reball down the road.

I've not heard of this high failure rate of slims your talking about. I've had xenons and jaspers, even a opus, but I currently have a a dual and a triple nand slim, they always boot in under 10 seconds, and haven't had a single problem with the slims. They stopped making all the phat consoles years ago, that alone makes me not wanna buy any phat console. I like the slims allot more than the ugly old phats, maybe it's just a cosmetic thing.

why not pick up a slim there around the same price as a phat.

i cant bash either motherboard there both great buys.

Get a Jasper, and get a sick case for it. That's what I did! Sold my shitty dual nand slim, and got the Jasper + case. Jasper boots in 4 seconds, and the slim booted anywhere from 10-45 seconds.
