I am looking to flash my classic arcade console and wanting to make back ups of the games I own. My issue is everything is outdated with the new october 2012 dashboard update.

here is what i have:

Xbox Cd Drive is Lite On DG-16D2S

Computer runs windows xp service pack 3

What i know:

prior knowledge with hotswapping and editing iso files including burning my own disc.

What i need help with:

1. in order to read the newer games i researched you need a new burn drive, my research has shown the liteon ihas324 24x dvd rw sata optical drive to be a great drive. is this correct?

2. can i directly connect my xbox drive into the motherboard of my computer via a sata connection? as my computer has extra sata slots on motherboard and i don't want to hae to buy the Xecuter X360USB Pro kit if i dont have to.

3. if the answer to number 2 is yes, does someone happen to have a link to a solid tutorial on flashing via sata port?

any help much appreciated!

You have alot to learn my friend. You need the CK3 Probe, CK3 pro and a compatible chipset, or the VIA6421 chipset.

What this guy said. I had to buy everything yesterday and that totaled up to about $90. But remember, $90 for 100 games, or $60 for one game.

This is exactly what you need, a CK3 Pro, a Ck3 Probe v3 and a VIA6421 chipset, as I said. The VIA6421 chipset is a cheaper alternative of the X360USB Pro.

You need an ihas Rev B burner. Once you get the ihas Rev B burner you need to then flash it with max burner firmware. You need to make sure it is a rev b, as Rev c and so on will not work.

2. can i directly connect my xbox drive into the motherboard of my computer via a sata connection? as my computer has extra sata slots on motherboard and i don't want to hae to buy the Xecuter X360USB Pro kit if i dont have to. You can buy a compatable sata port for around 10$ off of various websites. You will also need a Probe 3 so you can probe the mx01 to recieve your dvd key.

3. if the answer to number 2 is yes, does someone happen to have a link to a solid tutorial on flashing via sata port?
Its the same as flashing with a x360usb pro, except your wont have the usb connection. You follow the same rules steps.
