That's what I came up with. Also add this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] from Amazon. The 670 is 95% of the performance of the 670 and that Gigabyte model has an awesome cooler with the 680 PCB so it will overclock well and stay cool and quiet. It will max anything at 1080p, so there's really no sense in getting the 680. 650 watts is more than enough for this setup, but if you plan on adding a second 670, you'll want a 750w unit like [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Cough Cough Go with AMD there cheaper and faster and easy to over clock only down side is you will need a aftermarket fan because they run a little hot

AMD is only a good choice at very low budgets. Buying AMD would be a terrible idea for OP.

If you could get another 670 in 2 months, you could spend that money on other upgrades. A second 670 would be overkill, yes. But why not? If you don't want to get another SSD, more RAM or any external peripherals then go for it!

Anything above a 670 is overkill for gaming at 1080p. If you had a triple monitor setup or a single monitor at a 1200p resolution like 2560x1440, then two 670s would be good.

i dont really need anything else probably a lot of games to play but that's it. I guess another ssd would be helpful or more ram. But is this a good build for my first?

Yes, it's very well-balanced. Another SSD won't do you much good unless you just want more capacity.
