I am on it now should I restore to 5.1.1 or can I just update to iOS 6 when it's released?

And can I download a copy of iOS 5.1.1 to restore to after 6 has been released?

You will only be able to restore back to 5.1.1 if you have your SHSH Blobs saved, the GM Dev Release is what will be released to the public soon enough the only time you should need to update the iOS is when 6.0.1 is released (saying that if you are a registered dev you should receive those updates before the general public).

I am not a registered dev I just used a tut on here,so once iOS 6.0.1 comes out that's the only time I need to update?

You wont be able to restore/downgrade back to 5.1.1 you have to wait until 6.1 comes out and jailbroken so you can have free stuff on it

No you don't need to jailbreak, just update as normal either through iTunes or OTA it's your choice.

You are on the 6.0 GM edition now, correct? If you go to iTunes and you click on restore, you can technically still restore to 5.1.1 BECAUSE IOS 6, really isint out yet, TO THE PUBLIC. So if you hurry before it gets released today at some point. You may restore it now while you can to 5.1.1, then when IOS 6 comes to the public today, you can just update it normally.

Well, BFX I just did it. Because I want to stay on IOS 5.1.1 until there is an Jailbreak with Cydia on IOS 6.0. I will make a video of me using the IOs 6.0 GM edition and me downgrading to IOS 5.1.1 if you want me to, for proof.
