I have a moderate NAT type and sometimes can't connect to certain people. I was wondering what my NAT type has to do with conecting to the host?

right if you got xbox go on dashboard and go sstem setting click xbox lie connection test or whatever do it. and see what it saids after. then if its still moderate you will wanna turn your router or whatever off and wait a minutes or 30 seconds then try again.

SHOULD WORK.

You need to set your NAT to a lower security level. Happened to me all the time. Mine was stricked. And god forbid i tried to connect with anybody other than a open one.

u should fix it

go to your router homepage

if you have a linkys router its most likely 192.168.1.1

then enable UPnP. To do that go to the adminstration page on ur router homepage

if it keeps going from open to moderate, just keep turning UPnP on and off
