hi i was wondering what the safest overclock for an asus 6950 2gb directcu ii would be?

There is no set overclock. It depends on your entire configuration and temperatures.
Increase voltage and core clock in baby steps via Afterburner, monitor temperatures, leave it on overnight whilst running Furmark.
Go on other forums like OCN / NCIX and see what other people are getting with their 6950 GPU's.
