So I'm building a PC...
I want an i7 3770k, so I'm aware I need to look for an Ivybridge compatible motherboard...
I've found the Z77-D3H. It has an Intel Z77 Chipset. Is it compatible?
Also, I need a graphics card...
I've found a Nvidia GT 430, but it looks too cheap to be any good(uses PCI-E). So then I've also looked at a Nvidia GTX550Ti(uses PCI-E 2.0). The second card is twice the price of the first, but is it worth the extra? + is it compatible? (more confident on this one)

You aren't the smartest as far as computer parts, but we don't expect everyone to be experts! If you want a great build for your budget, pay us a visit at

As itsMichael said, go to that page. But you certainly won't need a 3770k.

To tell if a mobo is compatible with your CPU (For intel) look for where it says LGA, then the 4 numbers right after that will be what kind of socket you need. It will also say the socket type on the CPU page. (in this case LGA 1155)

I always thought a 3770k was the best one? :s
+ I'm planning to record PC games/xbox games, edit videos, produce videos and graphics...
so I thought the 3770k would speed up the rendering process

I'm willing to bet my crediblity you won't even be able to take advantage of anything more than an i5-3570K. Even an i3-2120. If you're gaming, you'll want a decent graphics card as well. The 550 Ti ain't that.

I thought a good processor was essential for gaming + making videos along side a lot of ram
Is the Radeon 6870HD any good of a graphics card?

It is. But for you it will not be worth it and you're throwing money at a problem that doesn't exist. The editing that people on TTG do is light. 8GB RAM and a 3570K is all TTG users need, generally speaking.

True. The only reason anyone should step up to the i7 is if they need a hexa-core (which is rare). I might sound silly but I just don't think a 4core/8thread is entirely worth it over an i5.
Though thats pretty hypocritical of me sayins so, I'm rocking a 3770k.
