Why gaming notebooks as a whole simply suck and should be avoided at all costs.

The only advantage a laptop has over a custom built PC for example is portability and convenience..but when you're looking to purchase a gaming laptop like the Asus G series for example, all of that gets thrown out of the window.

I'll list a few of the negatives about 'em..

- Heavy.
- Bulky.
- A large majority of them are at 17'' and almost none are below 15'' making it even less portable.
- Expensive.
- Underpowered.
- Sub par battery life since the higher end CPU, GPU, and native resolution eat it out making you have to carry the charger around more times than not which = less portability = less of what a notebook should be = more of an overpriced and underpowered tower replacement.
- Filled with crap-ware.
- Sub par TN panels which in turn makes shoddy viewing angles and colour reproduction.

In the end, they're a horrible buy...yes, all of them. If you want to game, build yourself a decent computer. If you want portability and half decent battery life, get a laptop that is actually a laptop - and no, I don't mean this buy going to your local BestBuy and picking out a 15'' $350 Acer low end tier either.

NO DO NOT GET THIS it is overpriced like hell if you need good laptops for good price (**** alienware) send me a pm and i will help you but if you don't have to then don't get a laptop for gaming get a desktop, a 2k laptop is the equivalent of a 1.2k desktop computer, also the specs are VERY HARD to change on a laptop you cant just go to the store and buy a new gpu and change it, also this laptop is overpriced even 1.5k laptops use a more powerful gpu

In my honest opinion on any company that claims they have a "Gaming Laptop" its completely untrue. I don't believe a laptop should ever be classified as a gaming machine. It's just uncomfortable to play on. Desktops are what you should buy for gaming hands down in my eyes.

Keep in mind though the battery is almost nothing so unless you keep it plugged in gaming isn't going to go well trust me.

I bought an ASUS GH73JW because of mobility and what not and the way my house is set up. Without the charger while gaming and that you'd be lucky to get an hour of battery life and of course the loss in FPS is pretty bad.

But as long as it's plugged in I can always move it anywhere and it can handle games pretty well.
