And I'm back yet again lol, few days away from purchasing and the power supply goes out of stock, I generally have no idea what to look for when looking at power supplies.

Should I get this one as a replacement?

Scan's PSU selection is just awful at the moment, so this is your best option for the time being: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

also will all this work???

i7 3770k
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
Asus HD 7970 Direct CUII Top
Ram listed above
Antec VP 550w
WD Caviar Black 1TB

one more question will the ram listed above work with a AMD A6 3670k and a ASRock A75M-HVS?

thanks

The RAM is fine, but it's still a waste of money considering memory bandwidth has negligible effects on 1155 systems and minimal effects on APU systems when integrated graphics are not being used.

What you have there will work, yes, but you can spend a lot less and get the same performance.

Oh god, now the Motherboard is out of stock....

Any chance you can maybe re-think some stuff so that the price does not exceed 555 gbp please?

It's currently 520 without a motherboard.

Here's the parts so far:

It's about the same as far as quality goes and it's cheaper. And yes, the VP-550 is adequate.

I switched to the Fractal Core 1000 and although you'll be putting some pretty high-end hardware in it, it'll still get the job done well. This case is fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to put much higher-end hardware in it. I also opted for the i5 without integrated graphics because it is some 8 GBP cheaper. This means you can't run the system without a graphics card, but it won't be a problem.

Should I overclock my AMD FX-6100?

If so would I get better FPS?

Overclocking would improve the IPC and performance per core and yes, some games would benefit from that, but there's a good chance you can't or shouldn't do it. What is the model number of your motherboard? You also have a stock cooler, right?

Yes, all Z77 boards support Intel SRT. I'd recommend you use it if you have a low-capacity SSD and/or an existing installation of Windows, but if you have a higher-capacity drive like 120GB+, I'd recommend not using it for caching.

I'd recommend you not overclock more than a few bins (multiplier counts) without an aftermarket cooler. That board's VRM and lack of cooling is also inadequate for any significant overclocking, which would likely result in throttling and possible failure.
