Some games I recommend to get:
Minecraft - Need I say more?
L4D2 - Great custom content
Borderlands - Great game, better with friends
Team Fortress 2 - Awesome game + it's free so how can you go wrong?
Super Monday Night Combat - Another good free game but the waiting times to find a match aren't good.
Counter Strike: Source - Always a good game and great for your daily dose of gun game.
Oh and obviously.. If you can run it well - Battlefield 3.

I've got BF3 for PS3 but other than that all those games look great. You win internet cookies! lol

AirMech-A great fun strategy game which has lots of hi-tech vehicles and jets to use to attack the enemy base. Its also free but not on steam
Also a great turn-based strategy is civilisation 5. Its where you build your own empire and take over others, starting from the ancient era to the future where you can use nukes.

Mount & Blade : Warband
It's a really fun game in which you make a character, and live in a large kingdom with several large factions. You can recruit men and create armies and go to war,join or create factions.
There is also hundreds of multiplayer servers that you can do the same thing on, with 200 players battles.
There's also about 500 mods that allow new weapons and stuff, it's pretty awesome.

Should of decided to get pc games off steam like a few weeks back. Everything was on sale. I got L4D2 for $4.99, Bioshock 1 n 2 for $9.99, and Portal 2 for $4.99.
L4D2 is pretty fun online. I'd recommend it.

Get Arma II combined Operations and get DayZ, very good game in my opinion. Well, mod. Starcraft II is good also.
