Recently, I have been thinking about reputation & the "thanks" button.

for example, if you make a helpful post or topic to help someone, they simply post telling you "thanks," without thanking the topic making the thanks button completely useless.

Or you can give someone really helpful tips, but rarely get any good stuff.

I completely agree with you. I find the reputation system is misused and overused and also I find the 'Thanks' button an utterly pointless feature.

100% agree.
I've seen a lot of topics on here that people just post "Thanks." instead of using the button just so they can get their post count higher. :coffee:
The button was created for a reason...

I feel that the thanks button is not used enough when a topic has really helpful information

That's the way I view it, but it's not used enough in a good situation.

Yep, I just wish it was used more on a daily basis.

I agree.

You rarely see people using the Thanks and Rep buttons anymore.

I wish it would be different.

Good rant Gaws, I see it happen alot.

Maybe they should ban the word 'Thanks' while posting.
