[font="Arial":d8b2453225]As many of you know, for quite a few additions which will be added to the game will require a new world, in this thread I will be explaining the new features which will require a new world and why. I will also give you MY ideas as to how 4j studios could implement them into old worlds somehow

First of all, in your current worlds now you may not have EVERYTHING, you may be missing things like pumpkins, cacti, sugar cane. Snow trees / biomes clay specific mob spawners.

Melons / Mineshafts: melons are found in abandoned mineshafts (in chests): which are added into the game in the 1.8 update. If youve fully explored your map which was made before 1.8 there will be no abandoned mineshafts so no melons for you to farm.

Npc villages: these are villages which are generated after the 1.8 update, you will find chests in these villages and also villagers, in the 1.3 release of minecraft you can trade with villagers using emeralds. If you made your world before 1.8 there will be no villages and no villagers so no trading, as far as I know there is no way to spawn / farm villagers.

End stone / The end / Strongholds: strongholds are generated after the 1.8 update they contain a room which has a portal to the end dimension in where you can kill they ender dragon to win the game and collect end stone which is only found in the end dimension. If youve fully explored your map before 1.8 there will be no strongholds for you to go to the end.

Vines / Swamps: vines are found in swamp biomes (beta 1.8) and in jungle biomes (1.2) they grow off the leaves of trees and you can farm them using sheers, if you made your world and fully explored your map before 1.8 there will be no swamp biomes and jungle biomes for you to get vines off, so no vines.

Giant mushroom biome: this is a biome where giant mushrooms are created and spawned on Mycelium, this is only found in giant mushroom biomes which will not be in your map if you created it before 1.0

Jungle trees / Jungle biomes: you find jungle trees in jungle biomes, ocelots spawn in jungle biomes and in 1.3 you can use the jungle tree wood to farm cocoa beans.so if you made your world before 1.2 you will have no jungle trees, you will not be able to farm cocoa beans or have ocelots.

Netherwart / Nether fortresses: (im not too sure about this as i have never used potions in the pc version) netherwart is used to make potions, nether fortresses are made of nether brick which cannot be crafted, so you will not be able to make potions, or netherbrick fences or stairs (netherbrick cannot be crafted from netherrack)

So as you can see, a lot of these new features will require a new world for. I have a few ideas as to how 4j studios could implement these features and have older features which you may be missing out on, (pumpkins cacti sugar cane etc.)

1. increase land size: basically just increase the size of the map so we get new biomes and can explore and collect these new items.

2. sorta links to number 1. an island idea. Im no games expert, but if the xbox cant handle increased map size, maybe it could generate small islands around the map, it will have snow biomes so you can collect snow and snow trees incase you didnt have any snow biomes in your world. Desert Island: for cacti. Swamp island: for vines and sugar canes. Jungle island: for jungle tree saplings, coca beans ocelots: etc.
on one of these islands there would be a stronghold and an npc village, the stronghold so you could get your melon seeds and the village so you can trade with villages, and do whatever else you want.


3. world trading: basically just trade between worlds, make a new world find some melon seeds and transfer them to you main world.

4. a portal to another world: maybe make a new portal sort of thing which teleports you to a different world where you can find these things.

5. this will not work for everything but: they could make it so when you destroy wild grass it has a chance of giving you melon or pumpkin seeds aswell as normal wheat. When you destroy a tree there is a small chance of getting another tree sapling from it, so you could be able to get jungle tree saplings.

I really hope something like this happens, I have spent a lot of time building things in my current world, I would love to accses these new items without having to make a new world, I could put vines on my old castle to make it look even more old and ruined. I could make a melon and pumpkin farm along with my wheat and sugar cane farm. I could make potions, I could build things with end stone etc.

Please let me know you thoughts, do you think there will be any chance of these things happening, are you bothered that you may need to start a new world to access new features or are you happy to start a new world???

Please give me your thoughts.

this is amazing news (if it goes ahead) we can now transfer new items like melon seeds and vines which would usually require a new world, now we can just switch to creative, give ourselves these items and switch back,

so is this for pc or xbox cuz i seen yea mentioned it about pc...
