Say aloud the pairs of words in the table below and compare the sound of the letter in bold of the Spanish word in the left column to the sound of the letter in bold of the English word in the right column. For example, does the a of Amrica make the same sound as the a of ancient? Does the j of jalapeo make the same sound as the h of house?
