I get about half way on all of my installations and then it just craps out on me. On the windows updates I was on 107 of 115 then it just stopped for 30 minutes so i pressed stop and they never installed. Im trying to install the windows service pack 1 now and it's only at 50% and it's completely stopped. What's happening to my computer? I can download everything just fine just installing them is the problem

Could be a antivirus firewall interrupting the downloads. Disable it while you do updates.

There can be many things that can prevent the instillation of windows updates.

Reason 1:

Say for instance your computer has numerous viruses, this could be the main reason why your computer can update these files. The reason why viruses attack such critical updates is to prevent removal or to keep the system at risk. This can cause numerous crashes, hardware failure and damage to the Pc.

Reason 2:

Say for instance your internet has a weak signal this can also be another reason. The connection needed to download the updates can keep disconnecting, either by to many devices on a router or an interruption in the signal.

Reason 3:

Now if you have an internet security, and say everything is fully turned up to full protection/Maximum. This could also be preventing the updates.

If you need any further help shoot me a Pm I will help fix this issue

Interesting. This happened to me once as well when I was downloading updates as well on a new copy of Windows. It comes out it was a service interrupting it called steadystate or something like that by Windows. I just disabled it and it stopped affecting the downloads. But that doesn't matter now because you already fixed it.
