Play the tutorial. Simple as that.

Mine some trees put trees in crafting bit make planks put planks in the 4 sqaures make a crafting table put crafting table down use it put 2 planks 1 above the other make sticks put sticks 1 above the other and then 3 planks on the top three squares you should now have a pick axe, start mining some stone to get a stone pick axe, make a house from planks of wood.. if you need to know how to make a tool or what to do with certain things just look on the mine craft wiki!
