Hey guys, im having problems with my xbox 360, sometime in January it gave up and gave me the rrod, so i tried fixing it which worked for 40 mins then it started freezing and having lines down the screen, so i gave up and got a new one. Now, ive starting playing gta Iv again and because i used my other xbox for moddin, i dont want to void the warrenty on my new xbox to install mods, so i tried fixing up the old xbox (the one which died in january)and so far so good, its working again, apart from one thing which is the fan in the back of it has starting messing around, starting off normally then after about 1 min gradually starts speeding up and up and up, which is kind of off putting as it sounds as it is away to blow up, does anyone know why this is happening/ or what i can do to fix it?

Im having the same thing. when i turn on my xbox it sounds like it's gonna blow up, but after 3-5mins it gets normal... I've never had RROD or anything on it.
Dunno what's it about but otherwise it works perfectly.

 he has just said it was a modded console, microsoft would take one look and know it. if its an older xbox it may just be how it is, i sometimes think my fans are workin overtime, but its the old shaped black elite console.

the reason they spin faster is to get the hot air out of the case and keep coolish

The fans can speed up if the xbox rises in temp or dectect that it hot quickly, may not be the same problem for you but ive had one like tht.

My xbox does the exact same thing,

The fan has always spun really fast since i got it 2 years ago, and it still works perfectly fine.

If its when you turn it off then you have back ground downloading enabled, I suggest having it on so it sucks the extra heat out of your xbox.
