I'm bored of COD and wanted a new game to play the genre doesn't matter. I was thinking borderlands or getting skyrim again cause i had fun with that.

If your a shooter fan , then I'd say look into Max Payne 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, or like you said, Borderlands is a great game.
