How Much Money you got.
I was in the same situation as you but I ended up going with a mac as I get 230 Frames on Minecraft with my Macbook Pro 15"
Note* Dell is not the best but they make the best gaming laptops...

The Best On the Market...
Alienware M18x r2
Graphics:SLI GTX 675M
CPU:i7-3610QM to i7-3920XM
RAM:8gb-32gb
Drive:HDD to 1.5TB Raid SSD
Minimum Cost - $3,099

Value For Money...
Asus G75VW

If you have enough money for either I would go with them.[/b]

What does the size of your hard drive have to do with gaming? Oh, nothing...OK.

OP, it's either a gaming desktop or a laptop. Laptops are not made for gaming regardless of what you hear, it's just not reasonable and practical to use in a everyday situation.

High end CPU = hungry for battery life.
High end GPU that's not integrated = hungry for battery life.
Strong 1080p resolution and brightness display = hungry for battery life.

Plus, it being quite thick, heavy, and maybe get 2 hours of battery life when NOT gaming, the cons outweigh the 1 or 2 pros big time. I assume you'd have it plugged in 90% of the time making the portability = useless = a desktop would be better.

For half of the price of a descent gaming laptop, you could build a wicked gaming rig.

It all really depends on your budget.

Personally, I would recommend you stay away from laptops for gaming as they usually have very low performance for the money you pay for them. You should consider to build your own PC, it isn't difficult, take a look at this video for an idea of what it takes to build a PC:

But if your certain on getting a laptop and want a real high end laptop try the MSI GT70. If you choose to max it out you could get one with a GTX 670m, an Ivy Bridge processor and 16GB of ram. The only downside is the hefty price tag of around 2000 pounds.

No one has to be a computer tech to realize that Alienware's are a rip off, be it desktops or laptops. Why would you suggest that?

You can't have the best of both if your going to a high end Laptop.

He can always get a desktop like I advised.
