1.What motherboard: Xenon
2.RGH or Jtag: Jtag
3. What seems to be the problem ? Name anything recent that you have done to you console recently (update nands, etc): I copied all my jtag files to a new harddrive via [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . I've tried using both the original harddrive in the console as well as the new one but no dice. The console will not boot. I've tried using different power & a/v cables, but console will not boot, haven't tried booting in xell, but am currently away for college so can't really do anything.
4. What physical errors are you seeing (2/3 RROD, RGH not booting, RGH booting slowly, Jtag getting E79,etc): 4 RROD
5. Do you have your OG Nand ? No

I never really recommend a xclamp fix, but if you are seeing 2 red rings, most likely the screws are too loose. Tighten them up a bit so the heatsink is making contact with the cpu and gpu

1.What motherboard Jasper
2.RGH or Jtag RGH
3. What seems to be the problem ? Console boots 1 out of 2 times and boots slow (5 minutes). If it doesn't boot it gets stuck at the end of the microsoft boot animation. Currently FSD and launch.ini are on my external 1 TB western digital hard drive with about 100 backups. (speculation) It seemed to boot more consistently and faster before I backed up a bunch of my games to my external. It would not boot when I had FSD and the launch.ini on the xbox 120gb hard drive so I moved it to external.
4. What physical errors are you seeing (2/3 RROD, RGH not booting, RGH booting slowly, Jtag getting E79,etc) Random slow booting
5. Do you have your OG Nand ? Yes

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't think it has to do with any games or the launch.ini. Most likely is a hardware issue. Are you using a tx coolrunner ? if so is the cap option being utilized ?

Thanks for the reply. Can you point me in the right direction on a guide I can read to figure out how to answer your question? I can check with the person who Reset Glitch Hacked my Jasper to find out. I think he charged $50 to perform the service. He seemed to say that the older the original dashboard the faster it would boot and I thought he also said in those files were on the original xbox hard drive, CD, or usb stick that it would boot faster but then we had the problem with it booting off the 120gb hd so he installed it to my external 1 tb. I just wasn't sure if it was a compatibility problem with my external or is there a FAQ that covers the slow booting issues with a checklist I can go through myself. My original dashboard was almost low enough to be jtagged (if it matters) but it still freezes on startup (before my profile signs in) I would say almost 50% of the time and then when I reboot it will work after a couple of minutes; usually after the profile logs in.

Could be a hardware problem Red ring of death or the wiring of your RGH .... Flash back the stock NAND and then post back if it still works

Thank you for the reply Mafia; I have been considering picking up a second RGH Jasper from your store but maybe we can work something out so I can send this one in also if it is not something I can fix by reading through some tutorials. If I disconnect the 1 TB external that contains the launch.ini and FSD folder on the root; my 360 Jasper boots correctly into NXE every time. I don't think it is RROD because I play my disc games this way every time. It is when I am on travel that I bring my external so I don't have to bring my games but waiting 5-10 minutes is super annoying to boot.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something easy I could muck with like de-fragmenting my external now that I have filled it up or moving the launch.ini and FSD folder files on the jasper internal memory, the 120gb xbox HD, on a readable disc, a USB stick, or maybe a faster external drive that might be causing the slowdown. Tonight I was going to try dropping those two files but freshly downloaded from one of the tutorial threads here on TTG on all these different drives to test boot times but the two of you think it's hard ware and my local modder mentioned I could change out the wiring which he thought may help. I had the RGH done maybe two months ago and the first month before I backed up any of my games I thought it booted within 20-30 seconds each time I fired it up which led me to believe it had something to do with how much information I dumped onto the external.
