The S III has significantly better hardware. Over the Nexus it has a much faster CPU, SD card support, a thinner design, a bigger battery, a larger screen, and some extra Samsung features. Both will have a thriving development community long into the future and the S III will be able to run vanilla Android ICS as soon as they get settled in. Vanilla is superior to the carrier overlays in my experience.

Basically get the S III. The Nexus will be behind the curve sooner.

They're both Samsung phones available on multiple carriers. They're more like flagships for Android as a whole.

If you're in favor of the Galaxy Nexus, can you please post specific reasons why you prefer it to the S III?
