I'm thinking of buuying one for the sake of recording for my Xbox.
The PVR costs $230 itself plus the cost of $60 for the Xbox HD cables.
So my question is...is the PVR worth it? Or should I get a Dazzle or something a little cheaper.
Leave your opinions. Thanks!

It's all up to you. If you're going to put out content a lot, go for it. If not, it's pretty pointless.

It all depends on multiple factors:
Basically consider if you have the money to waste on a recording device and decide how dedicated you will be. Also think about what your use for it would be and how long to seriously expect to still be gaming.
I'm 17 and I bough a Dazzle first and bought the S Video cable. I was pretty happy and I was going to buy a HD PVR with my Tax Refund from working before I moved. I thought about it and realized that I really wasn't heavily into gaming anymore, and I decided to wait. So I spent the money somewhere else.
Basically, decide if its worth it.

Dude it depends if your going to post a lot of videos out there and get into cometary and effects then it's a definite yes ! Roxio's are good but have be known to have some defects but if you going to post a little amount of stuff then go for a dazzle.

It depends on what quality you really want.
What are you also recording for?

Honest opinion, a roxio will get the job done for like $150 cheaper. Get the right settings and it's all clear, not as clear as a PVR but clear enough for people to see what's going on. That's my opinion though.
