Crack your knuckles, breathe slowly, aim and fire when ready, Shooting Games exist to test your skill as a marksman in the most chaotic real and imagined battles of modern warfare. Gunpowder hit Europe during the Medieval Ages, and like many discoveries of human history it did not take long to develop it into a destructive weapon. And what a weapon. Firearms slowly made edged weapons obsolete and are the sidearm of choice of todays knights and warriors. Just as competence with a sword or spear made you a formidable opponent 700 + years ago, a keen eye and the ability to hold steady as you shoot is the mark of the ultimate combatant on the battlefields of this new age.

Shooting Games come in a remarkable variety. Those doubters who think these are mindless games of button punching and slaughter havent spent enough time glued to their consoles with the right games playing. These are games of pure skill and composure. Sure, you may not be on an actual battlefield with bullets whizzing past your head like lethal angry wasps (so just because you killed two Nazis with one shot one time doesnt put you in the same ballpark as real Army sniperssorry to kill your buzz) but even with a digital simulacrum doing your dirty work stress levels can rise as dozens of enemies have your demise on their minds, and nothing else. There are two factors that make you a decent gamer in the Shooting Games world and the ability to fire the weapon is only one of them, the other is the ability to keep a cool head under fire; these games arent just about shooting, but also being shot at, its a whole different feeling then.

There are the strategy games of the high minded who want to play general, but these games are for the grunts, for those that know who really carry the burden of combat and win wars: the guy with the gun. Join the online battle arena and see how your skills match up with the hardened gamer veterans.

I think it improves your reaction time and hand-eye coordination.

That got me laughing, and yeah I don't see the harm in shooter's as it does increase eye coordination and your reaction time but if people play it too much, then that would be a bad impact on them.
