i have an iphone 3gs on 5.1 tethered jailbreak but its annoying me so how can i downgrade to 5.0.1 thanks

Use iFaith to create a Signed iPSW but you need your SHSH Blobs

download the ipsw and downgrade via itunes.

Since The Firmware is Compatible With 3gs, All You need To Do Is Download The Firmware And Custom Restore it, So yes, It Can be Done.

No you can't just downgrade
Apple stopped signing iOS 5.0.1 which means you'll get an error code in the process of downgrading
To bypass this, make sure you have SHSH blobs saved and download Sn0wbreeze
Sign and build a custom ipsw and then restore in iTunes ;)
