A PS4 is not coming out for a while. Rainbow Six Patriots comes out next year for PS3, so the PS3 will still be a active console.

Yeah you should buy one... I have it and it is really fun and you can make as many live accounts as you want And they won't put a new Playstation system out soon because they just released the Vita.
