So this wouldn't work if I took the DVD drive out of my Jtag (Arcade) and put it into one of my retails? (Elite's)

Possibly you could but if you which the dvd drive to a another xbox you would have to have the dvd key or flash the key on to it. and yes you can which lasers with out a problem
