I have been told that Vista uses 1GB of RAM and if you downgrade to XP you will get that RAM back...
Just wondering if there was any way of downgrading for free or if i will have to pay for a Legit XP installation disc?

Please Help and ill Plus rep!

Well if you have 32 bit Vista and >4GB of RAM you shouldn't worry. If you have 64 bit regardless of your RAM than you might.
I've never heard of this, but Windows 7 doesn't steal RAM, so I doubt Vista would.

If you know how much physical RAM you have installed, then ctrl+alt+delete > Task Manager > Performance Tab and look where it says "Physical Memory (MB)" and then "Total". That will tell you how many Megabytes of RAM you have installed. Divide that by 1000 and round up. See if your physical memory installed matches what you computer says. If it's off by ~1GB than it's true, if not than it's not true.

Because 32 bit only supports 3GB. If you upgrade to 64 bit you should see all 4GB.

I don't believe hardware changes will cause you to gain another gig of RAM. I'm sorry.
