Your device must be jail broken to do this cheat.

This cheat allows you to speed up time
Step 1: Download Backgrounder from Cydia
Step 2: Enable backgrounder
Step 3: Go to Settings then to General then to Date & Time
Step 4: Launch The Simpsons Tapped Out app
Step 5: Open multitasking then go to Settings/Date & Time
Step 6: Click Set Date & Time
Step 7: Change the date
Step 8:Open multitasking then launch The Simpsons Tapped Out
That's it you can now speed up the wait times by doing this

I downloaded it ages ago and I can't get past tap to continue screen :/

The game is working fine now for those who had originally downloaded it. If you deleted the game then you can't get it back until they have released it back onto the App Store.

Yea at first I couldn't connect to the server now I can connect just fine so I think the servers are up for everyone

This glitch is in every game that is similar to this one. But none the less post can be helpful.
