I know most of you aren't dumb enough to fall for the "MS Point generator" trick, etc, but some people sadly are and still believe they can get free MS points..

Here's an explanation why it's impossible..



Key:
Red: Unactivated code
Blue: Activated code



When Microsoft creates a MS point card, they have a system (database) in which stores the code in a computer until a card is activated. MS point cards are activated through the register when you buy them.
If you're not following along, it's like this.

When a card is created, it goes under the database as Red. (Which is unactivated)

The card doesn't turn Blue until activated.

So let's say I randomly generate a code and it's SOMEHOW a correct code on a MS point card that isn't bought.
Here's my code:

1111-2222-3333-4444

Now when I enter this into my profile, you get a big fat...

REJECTED!

So in order for this to work, I'd have to buy the correct card with the code I just generated (Which is a 1:10,000,000 chance of happening..) but if it did happen, the code would activate and become blue.

1111-2222-3333-4444

Now since it's activated, my console would accept it.

No generator can activate a card... Period.
Hope this at least somewhat made sense to you all if you haven't noticed this is impossible to do.

Welllllll.. I'm breaking out my nerdyness here.

Microsoft sells ~100,000 cards a year for MSP alone. Roughly 69,000 being the 20$ cards, others being the 4000 MSP 40-50$ cards. So let's figure this out.

Their yearly income: ~62,484,000,000 USD.

20$ Cards profit a year: ~1,380,000 USD
40$ Cards profit a year: ~1,810,000 USD.

So they still end up making ~62,480,000 USD a year.

Lot of money to us.. Tiny tiny pocket change to them
