Mathematics is a set of rules to govern the unknown. "Math" is just a system we apply to life to make it more coherent. Math as we know it, with one and two and three, was invented, but the principles, that one object plus another object equals the sum of the objects, then that was discovered.

invented would be inventing the whole idea of the

and discorveing would be the idea of the equations ( 1-1=0)

Math was neither invented nor discovered its an universal language every thing knows that when you put 1 thing next to another it makes 2 things next to each other. No matter how you say one two tres its the fact that its 1 , 2 ,3. Even stated by NASA if we came in alien contact we would talk using the universal language of math.
