Okay so I've left my xbox on overnight dozens of times and nothing happens, I dont even have a cooling system but last week when my brother came home he brought his girlfriend over and they someone managed to turn on the xbox without realizing it, and it was on for 2 days straight before I realized. Im guessing it was on the dashboard, so the disc reader shouldnt be messed up, but could it have messed up the network port? I have a wired connection, and since then its been really messed up. NAT Type is Moderate now, and im always lagging out of games and parties then getting disconnected off xbox live. Do you think its really my xbox, or just coincidence and its really my router?

Have you tried to port forward your router for your Xbox? It would probably help the NAT type.

I doubt running it over 2 days like that just in the Dashboard affected it. I have seen them run longer than that with no problems when they are running a game.

My suggestion would be to reset both your modem and router, then reset your xbox and see if that helped.

If not you may have to go into your routers settings and set up port forwarding for your xbox. Here is a list of the ports you need to forward. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If that doesn't work, it is possible that the latest update is causing some problems for you. Don't worry though, many other people are stuck on the same boat.
