Needs...they are nonexistent...unless a Want is applied.
For example,
Let's say Jimmy needs an income to pay for his monthly rent.
Well Jimmy doesn't actually "need" to get an income to pay for his rent.
He could just not get one, but then he would lose his apartment.
But Jimmy only needs an income because he wants to be his monthly rent because he needs to because he wants to live in his apartment.
See? All needs only lead to wants.
Now if you would like to argue me on survival, the ok.
Let's say, for example, that John needs oxygen, food, water, and a shelter to survive.
Now John only needs these things because he wants to survive.
John could just sit in a grassy field and die if he wanted to, because he doesn't want to survive.
If you would like to argue any thing else, don't understand, or anything else, please leave a comment stating what you want to say or ask.

It's not about wanting, but you need water to survive, you don't have to want to survive, it's more of a common sense, where as you need it to survive, plain and simple.

True in such a way. This post wanted me to open up my mind and have me think this for the rest of my life.

In a way I feel as if religion could play into this some how.
Say Jimmy says that he needs to survive simply because he believes that God or whoever says he has to spread the word of that religion?
It is the God who is wanting him to. Jimmy could be very deep into that religion and believe that completely and feel that he needs to for that reason. Not that he wants to. If that makes sense?
Not trying to start an argument or anything. Just thought of that and wondered how you would go about it.

Those statements by thereselfs are both correct.
But I think I might know wha your really wanting to know.
The Want to survive leads to the Need of the 4 "Necessities" of survival
1. Food
2. Water
3. Oxygen (applying to humans)
4. Shelter
So the Need of food is part of the Want of survival.
But yes, one of the ways of getting food is by a job which gives you an income to pay the food.
So I will explain in the following statement.
You Need food because you Want to survive, so you Need a job because you Need an income because you Need to buy food because you Want to survive.
Hope I explained it.
