THE BUZZ: At the moment Battlefield 3 is only available digitally via EAs Origin service, however a few hints may point towards a Steam release occurring at some point.

The first clue comes from a competition currently being held on the Sapphire Select Clubs website which lists one of the prizes as, [o]ne (1) PC Game code for Battlefield 3, redeemable for the game on Steam, this could just be a mistake on their part though.

The second comes from the Battlefield 3 PunkBuster install file, a few lines of code mention Steam:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 3\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\battlefield 3\
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\battlefield 3\
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 3\
Again this could just be the team not bothering to remove the original lines of code.

EGMs TAKE: It appears that all the evidence points to a Steam release for Battlefield 3 at some point.

oh i hope it dose come to steam i hate origin played battlefield 3 beta onit but i dnt realy wan't to download to game things and keep switching from playing bf3 to something on steam
