Hello, I have an hp pavilion dv6-3033cl with intel core i5 2.4ghz 4gb ram and f.27 bios version with InsydeH20 rev 3.4 bios. Windows fails to boot and the startup repair as well, I am unable to boot into safe mode. I read that I have to change the SATA controller in my bios, unfortunately, my bios does not have an advanced options tab. Can anyone help?

What happened prior to you not being able to start Windows?

Nothing, like if i press start windows normally, it does the whole animated logo thing then BSODs. I recently sent it in to hp to get the ports fixed, one of those ports were the eSATA, so my guess was that the SATA driver was not configured correctly(Other people had some similar error with SATA and not booting windows when I googled it).

Well if you sent it already for repairs it should be fixed when you get it. But if you remember, what was the error code on the BSoD?

Can you not insert your windows disc and repair? Or just do a clean re installation?

I have some stuff like some special school projects and other files on there, so I was hoping to not have to re install windows. and I can't see the BSoD screen, It appears for like a split second, I'll record it with my iphone and play it back slowly.

Why do people always say to re-install the OS? That in my opinion is last resort. Would you like to lose all your data?

So HP is repairing it? Could you even get a slight glimpse of it?

Hp already repaired the ports, but I'm guessing they didn't update the drivers for the SATA port or configure it correctly. I got a slight glimpse, but i don't have an eidetic memory.

Try and see if you can see it one more time. That error code is necessary to diagnose the problem.
