KNOW WHAT NAT IS

NAT, or Network Address Translation, is a networking concept that allows your router to share a single IP address across multiple devices. Instead of your Internet service provider (ISP) assigning an IP address to every device that connects to the Internet, NAT allows your ISP to assign a single IP address to your router. The router then manages a set of IP addresses for all the devices on your home network.

Know how NAT impacts your Xbox live gaming.

When you try to join an online game or party, you receive an error.
You are frequently disconnected from a game or party.
You cannot hear or communicate with someone in an online game.

Know that your NAT setting is responsible for just how much you can get out of Xbox live. If incorrectly set it means you may not be able to host games, chat to friends or only be able to join a smaller amount of games on-line.
4
First you must know a little bit about the NAT status and what each one means...

Open: The optimum setting, you can play/talk with all other Xbox Live gamers If the Xbox Live test says nothing about NAT when tested your NAT is Open. (Other factors can impact your gaming even if NAT is open).
Moderate: Good, but not ideal. You can play/talk to other Xbox live gamers that have a NAT Status of Open and Moderate and no-one else.
Strict: This is the worst possible setup. You can play/talk to other Xbox live gamers that have a NAT Status of Open and no-one else. (In Test Xbox Live Connection you will see a yellow triangle if it is on strict)

SOLUTION 1

1 Turn off your Xbox 360 console and network hardware (for example, your modem and router).
2
Wait 30 seconds.
3
Turn on your modem and wait for it to come back online (approximately one minute).
4
Turn on the next piece of hardware (for example, the router), and wait another minute.
5
Repeat step 4 for every additional piece of network hardware.
6
Turn on your console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
7
Select Network Settings.
8
Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.
9
Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

SOLUTION 2
1
Check to see if your router is compatible with Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is a standard that helps routers communicate effectively. If your router or gateway supports UPnP, make sure this setting is turned on.
2
Restart all your hardware.
3
Wait two to three minutes.
4
Go back to Test Xbox LIVE Connection

SOLUTION 3
1
Temporarily turn off everything that's connected to your wireless network except your Xbox 360 console.
2
Test your Xbox LIVE connection.
3
Go to My Xbox
4
Select System Settings
5
Select Network Settings
6
Select Wired network or your wireless network name (if you are prompted to do so)
7
Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
