The Panasonic HTF600 or Monoprice 8323 are some you should take a look at. They have no right sounding so great for so little!

You could also check out the Koss Portapro, Philips Citiscape Metro, and AKG K518. These are all on-ear. If you're looking for something pretty, the Citiscape might be for you!

For producing music a neutral headphone is needed. A good seal helps sometimes too. Try the HD280? The local stores sometimes even have them on display. There's also the KRK KNS6400, but personally I haven't heard them.

They're actually pretty dismal for the price. Also, this is a topic for GETTING advice, not giving. The advice you gave is also bad.
