Personally, I like core. It's the way battlefield is meant to be played. Hardcore was added up just recently. I like the HUD, it tells you what you need to know. Ammo levels. Where people are. Spotting is great. The mini-map is essential. The health level is pretty good. When your a medic on hardcore, it can be confusing when your reviving. It's much easier to find fallen teammates with the minimap. I don't like how enemies can see where you are after you die though. That's annoying.

Hardcore on the other hand can get hellish. Health is very low. Snipers can kill you even if they have poor aim because it's a one-hit kill almost anywhere on the body. You can't tell vehicle health, which is crucial. Health regeneration is off. Which is good and bad, I think there should be slight health regen. It's pointless to spot people. Motion mines are pointless as well. Therefore non-verbal communication like spotting enemies is gone. However hardcore is a little more realistic, but core is a much better balance between realism and a video game. Fun and intense at the same time.
