It now seems that if you post anything that flashes or has a scan line you will get a 10/10. These type of gfx are mostly very basic 2min jumble of miss matched colours, fonts which have had bevel and emboss applied to the point where it is unreadable. If someone posts rate i think we owe them the decency to rate truthfully.
Here are my tips for rating work.

If someone posts rate please do so honestly and with respect to there feelings.
No one wants to hear there work is no good so dont post 3 or 4 words saying so. If you dont like it let them know what you dont like about it and any improvements they could make. The same goes for if you like it let them know what you like so they can use that on new projects. Always try and finish your rating with a positive comment as some people will just give up and not try anymore

Ratings in my opinion should be along these guidelines
1-3/10 for something anyone could do.
3-5/10 for plain text. I would normally rate psd,s at this. Nothing wrong with using them but dont claim there yours.
5-7/10 for simple work with basic effects/gradients.
7-8/10 for work which looks good with some nice effects/masks/blending.
8-9/10 for work that looks very clean with colours that complement each other. This rating should be givin for gfx you can tell people have put time and effort into
9/10 for work which has a lot of time effort and care put in. Work rated at this would probably have taken days to get right not just hours
10/10 for GFX which are amazing and would not look out of place on ANY profesional gfx site.

If we post respectfully and truthfully we would see a lot more Great pieces of work not just flashing text or scanlines

For your '9/10' description...

Most of the work on the site that gets 9/10, including most of mine, doesn't take days to complete.

It just takes a creative mind and some thought!

Nice post though

Fair comment but its just meant to stop people rating 10/10 for something that only took like 5-10 mins to make. All that does is let the person think there is no room for improvement
